Maruyama Castle ruins
Address | Karino, Minamiashigara |
---|
Overview
The old castle in the Karino district is believed to have been owned by the Matsuda clan, retainers of the Late Hojo family, during the Sengoku period. Most likely it was used for signal fires and to monitor the highway from a place in the castle from where you could see across the Karikawa River. There still remain earthen walls close to the summit.
